Hi everyone!

At first glance, everything looks good on the top of my plants. However I have some discoloring in my roots and some are brown and sick!

I do water changes every week and my PH looks fine!

Any ideas?

Depending on the conditions, this discolouration may or may not be a problem.

If your using Hygroton Rocks and did not dust them off before using, you can expect red/brown stained roots.

If you have been using a product called Liquid Karma you can also expect stained roots.

Root Rot is a fungal infection which can be created by High Reservior temps or when dissolved Oxygen is too low.

Aparently can tell if you have root rot if your roots look sick and deformed, and easily break away from the root ball.

I've never used Hygroshield but to solve root rot, you can try 25ml/gal of 30% peroxide over the roots for 1 hour.

Later on, try adding 20ml/gal of Hygrozyme and 200ml of Hygrogaurd.

Hygrozyme should break down the root matter which will uncover more surface area for the roots and grow new ones.

Hydrogaurd should prevent other bad stuff from growing.
